Latest survey: Gen Z may be aging faster due to e-cigarettes and other factors

Key point: Why Gen Z is aging so differently from millennials

Millennials have achieved a surprising victory with their youthful appearance, despite being repeatedly criticized by Baby Boomers and Generation Z.

As the oldest members of Generation Y enter middle age, many are puzzled by the fact that this group appears to be aging much more slowly than the generations before and after them.

A healthier diet, better skincare awareness, and improved makeup techniques mean that those born between 1980 and 1997 look younger at the same age.

However, surprisingly, this trend has not continued with Generation Z (those born between 1998 and 2012), whose aging process differs from that of the previous generation.

Beauty experts explain that Millennials learned good skincare techniques in their late teens and twenties, while Generation Z may have been overexposed to these techniques and started misusing products, leading to premature aging.

Dr. Rasha Raheshni-Moghadam told FEMAIL: "Excessive or unnecessary use of fillers and toxins at a young age can affect the natural development of the face, causing young patients to appear older than their actual age."

"Compared to previous generations, Millennials generally have a higher awareness of skincare and diet, often adopting a more holistic approach to health. This shift involves a greater emphasis on preventive skincare practices and a focus on a balanced diet."
