FDA Approves Four New On! nicotine bag products

    The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that it has approved an additional four on! Nicotine bag products are available: Rich Berry 2 mg, Cappuccino 2 mg, Cappuccino 4 mg and Autumn Spice 2 mg. These products are manufactured by Helix Innovations LLC and are reviewed through the FDA's nicotine bag pilot program. The pilot project aims to simplify the PMTA review and improve the efficiency of the review. The agency said it is currently applying the pilot's experience to other PMTA reviews. The FDA has determined that most of the newly approved products contain lower levels of harmful and potentially harmful ingredients than traditional smoky and smokeless tobacco products. The agency states that adults 21 years and older may be less exposed to harmful chemicals if they switch completely from cigarettes or smokeless tobacco to the use of FDA-approved nicotine bags; But at the same time, it was pointed out that dual use (using two products at the same time) could not achieve the same degree of risk reduction. With this latest approval, the FDA has now approved a total of 30 nicotine bag products through the PMTA pathway.
