Two Swindon shops sold vapes to minors, city council plans regulations in response
Two shops in Swindon, UK, have been reported for selling vapes to minors, with the colors and flavors of the vapes appealing to children. The Swindon City Council plans to take legal measures in response.
According to a recent report by the Swindon Advertiser, two shops in Swindon, UK, sold vapes to minors, and their names have not been disclosed due to an ongoing investigation.
In the UK, it is only legal to sell vapes to individuals over the age of 18, but their bright colors and sweet flavors can attract children.
The Swindon City Council is now considering taking legal action. Councillor Jim Grant stated, "We are increasingly concerned about the popularity of disposable vapes among minors; they should not have access to these products." Jim Grant is a cabinet member for local communities and joint working.
The Swindon Borough Council and the police are now encouraging the public to act as the "eyes and ears of community trading standards" when they see shops selling age-restricted products to underage children.
