Russian State Duma Deputy Speaker: E-Cigarettes Should Be Banned in Stages
Alexander Spiridonov, Deputy Speaker of the Russian State Duma's Industry and Trade Committee, stated on Duma TV that e-cigarettes should be gradually banned in production and sales as many people have become accustomed to vaping.
According to a report from Russian media "Parliamentary Gazette" on November 13, Duma TV reported that Alexander Spiridonov expressed that due to the widespread use of e-cigarettes, a gradual ban on their production and sales is necessary.
Previously, Biisultan Khamzaev, a member of the State Duma's Security and Anti-Corruption Committee, supported an initiative to ban flavored e-cigarettes.
He believes that this would reduce the appeal of e-cigarettes. Additionally, in October, this member also supported a refusal to sell tobacco products on social networks.
It is reported that a proposal to ban the online sale of nicotine products may soon be introduced, and lawmakers have suggested imposing fines for illegal e-cigarette advertising.
