How to use an e-cigarette coil winding rod? The method of using an e-cigarette coil winding rod

In this tutorial, I am using a 1/16 drill bit coil winding rod. You don't need to buy an expensive DIY toolbox; simple tools will suffice. Please don't make excuses; have confidence!

The difference between a tightly wound coil and a regular coil is that the former has each turn tightly pressed together. If you have seen a tank-style atomizer before, you may have noticed that it has only a few turns with some spacing, which is the opposite of a tightly wound coil. However, this gives the coil a large contact area with the e-liquid, allowing the coil to continuously heat, making the e-liquid vaporize better.

The first wrap of the coil is the most challenging step in all the processes. First, wrap the heating wire around the coil winding rod once, then press the two ends of this wrap tightly. This small step will set the position for the remaining tightly wound coils.

How to use an e-cigarette coil winding rod? Diameter size

Regarding the diameter size of the coil, different people have different opinions. For me, 90% of the coils I use are made from the following three specifications of heating wire:

Large: I use a 3/32 drill bit coil winding rod, which is slightly larger than the 1/16 drill bit coil winding rod. The coils produced provide a larger vaporization surface area without significant drawbacks. I often use it on Genesis-style atomizers.

Medium: 1/16 drill bit coil winding rod. This is the most moderate size among all dimensions. The 1/16 coils perform well in Protanks and BCCs atomizers. They also perform well in dragon coils. Additionally, because its size can fit Kayfun-style airflow holes and chimneys, I also like to use it in Kayfun-style atomizers. In summary, this is a moderate size that can fit most atomizers.

Small: Small coils are best wrapped with the material being guided rather than stuffed inside, as this will yield the best performance. I usually use a paperclip as a coil winding rod to make small coils. If using Kanthal 0.32mm heating wire, just a few wraps can produce a considerable amount of vapor. I rarely use this size, but there are times when it comes in handy.

How to use an e-cigarette coil winding rod? Value comparison

1. Same heating wire: If the number of turns remains unchanged, a larger diameter results in higher resistance and lower power; if the diameter remains unchanged, more turns result in higher resistance and lower power.

2. Same diameter: If the number of turns remains unchanged, a thicker heating wire results in lower resistance and higher power; if the heating wire remains unchanged, more turns result in higher resistance and lower power.

3. Same number of turns: If the diameter remains unchanged, a thicker heating wire results in lower resistance and higher power; if the heating wire remains unchanged, a larger diameter results in higher resistance and lower power.

4. Same resistance: Thicker heating wire, larger diameter, and more turns result in more vapor; conversely, less vapor.
