The FDA recently sent warning letters to 10 vaping companies, including Cool Clouds Distribution Inc. (which sells Puff Bar), ordering them to remove flavored disposable vapes from the market.
Because these products lack the required authorization to be legally marketed, the move is part of the agency’s effort to remove products it believes appeal to young people.
FDA Commissioner Stephen M. Hahn said: “The FDA continues to prioritize enforcement against vaping products, especially those that are most appealing and most accessible to youth.” “We are concerned about the popularity of these products among young people, and we want to make clear to all tobacco product manufacturers and retailers that, even during the ongoing pandemic, the FDA will continue to closely monitor the market and hold companies accountable.”
“Although on-site inspection activities, such as retail compliance checks and vape shop inspections, have been suspended due to the pandemic, our enforcement against unauthorized vaping products remains in effect,” added Mitch Zeller, director of the FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products. “These warning letters are the result of ongoing internet surveillance for violations of tobacco laws and regulations.”
