IQOS ILUMA series: teardown of the TEREA sticks for ILUMA
TEREA sticks for IQOS ILUMA cannot be used with older IQOS models. They are designed only for the two ILUMA devices, and their structure helps keep tobacco debris out of the heating chamber.
Before getting into the introduction, let me first emphasize this: the TEREA tobacco sticks made specifically for ILUMA cannot be used with older-generation devices. At present, they are only compatible with the two ILUMA devices.

As you can see from Figures 1 and 2, these tobacco sticks cannot be used with older devices.

In Figure 3, the first section is designed to prevent tobacco residue from falling into the heating blade, so basically there is no need to clean the heating blade often. If tobacco residue or tobacco oil gets inside, it will affect the flavor. The middle section contains the tobacco and a special metal component. This metal is what allows the device to detect that a tobacco stick has been inserted. Older tobacco sticks do not have this metal part, so inserting them into the device will not activate it. There is no need to explain the cooling section and filter tip.
