KT&G told Nate News that its plan to officially enter the global nicotine pouch market next year is progressing as scheduled, and it believes it will complete the US$176.8 million acquisition of Another Snus Factory (ASFN) this year, after which it will transfer a 49% stake to Altria.
A KT&G official said, “Starting next year, we plan to expand the nicotine pouch business from the five Nordic countries—Iceland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland—to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and North America.”
According to Euromonitor, the global nicotine pouch market reached US$11.2 billion in 2024 and is expected to grow by more than 30% this year.
