Kazakhstan to ease hookah ban, but not the vaping ban

 

 

According to Kazakhstan’s Deputy Interior Minister Sanzhar Adilov, the country may ease restrictions on hookah use. He confirmed that the issue is under review, and a final decision will be made after evaluations and public hearings. Officials are considering allowing the import of hookah equipment, permitting hookah use in entertainment venues, and establishing a list of approved hookah substances and conditions of use.

 

Adilov emphasized that the current vaping ban will remain in effect, and that additional measures will be introduced to strengthen criminal penalties for the sale and transportation of vaping products. He stated: “Our position on e-cigarettes is very clear: stronger accountability and zero tolerance.”
