According to Bloom Pakistan, a new bill has been introduced in Pakistan’s Senate to ban the sale of e-cigarettes, vaping devices, and electronic hookahs to consumers under the age of 18. The bill also calls for a ban on the use of these products in public places and restrictions on advertising, promotion, and sponsorship.
First-time violators will be fined 50,000 Pakistani rupees (US$176.82), while repeat offenders will face a fine of 100,000 Pakistani rupees. Selling such products within 50 meters of educational institutions will result in a fine of 200,000 Pakistani rupees, and repeated violations may incur fines of up to 500,000 Pakistani rupees.
