Amid concerns over rising youth e-cigarette use, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a proposal allowing regional authorities to ban the sale of vaping devices. At a meeting in Sarov, Nizhny Novgorod Governor Gleb Nikitin suggested that his region could serve as a pilot area for the ban. Putin called it a “good proposal” and said he would support it immediately.
A day earlier, the government had expanded its mandatory labeling pilot program to include vaping devices and heated tobacco devices, further tightening control over the industry.
