UK Shop Found With Hundreds of Illegal Tobacco Products, City Council Announces License Review
The Family Shopper store in Wednesfield, UK, is facing a license review after a large quantity of illegal tobacco products and e-cigarettes was found on the premises.
According to a January 23 BBC report, authorities will conduct a licensing review after hundreds of illegal e-cigarettes and cigarettes were discovered at a shop in Wednesfield, UK.
On September 28 last year, Wolverhampton trading standards officers found 878 illegal e-cigarettes and 660 illegal cigarettes at Family Shopper on Wood End Road in Wednesfield.
A Wolverhampton City Council report said its trading standards department has requested a review of the store’s operating license.
Amitabh Singh, head of the licensing department, said the license holder and management had failed to comply with licensing law, and councillors might conclude that they have “no option other than revoking the license.”
Many local residents have written to the city council in support of the Family Shopper business plan, and the license review hearing will be held on January 29.
