Vietnam police seize nearly 400,000 e-cigarettes and related accessories
The Bac Ninh Public Security Bureau has temporarily seized nearly 400,000 finished e-cigarettes, over 300 bottles of various types of e-liquids, and several machines related to e-cigarettes without clear sources.
The police in Bac Ninh City collaborated with the first market management team to inspect a goods collection warehouse located in the Khúc Xuyên industrial zone, discovering a large number of e-cigarettes without invoices or proof of origin.
During the inspection, the warehouse representative, Nguyen Van Duc (34 years old, residing in Liujiang County, Bac Giang Province), failed to present a business license and invoices or proof of origin for the goods. At the same time, Nguyen Van Duc admitted to importing raw materials, including flavors and equipment used for processing and packaging e-cigarettes, and selling them on the market.
Law enforcement officers temporarily seized nearly 400,000 finished e-cigarettes, over 300 bottles of various types of e-liquids, and many related machines to continue verifying and clarifying the facts and handling them according to the law.
Currently, the flavor oils used for e-cigarettes include many harmful types, and their health hazards have not been fully assessed.
Many e-cigarettes are designed to be very convenient, with liquid bottles that allow for hundreds of puffs, and the nicotine concentration per milliliter of liquid is almost unquantified. This leads users to increase their dosage, resulting in a higher intake of nicotine and an increased risk of acute poisoning.
