Lithuania to ban vaping products containing sugar and sweeteners from November 2024
Key point: From November 2024, Lithuania’s parliament will ban vaping products containing sugar and sweeteners
On Thursday, Lithuania’s parliament voted to ban e-cigarettes and pods containing sugar and sweeteners due to concerns about their impact on children. The law will take effect on November 1 next year.
In total, 98 lawmakers voted in favor of the bill, none voted against it, and four abstained.
Conservative MP Vilius Seme?ka said: “Sugar and sweeteners are addictive. Manufacturers are manipulating our children and the younger generation into developing these harmful habits. That is why this law is timely.”
The amendment prohibits the sale of e-cigarettes and pods containing sugar or sweeteners.
