UK Lawmakers Urge Schools to Report Student E-Cigarette Use, Survey Shows Most Parents Support It
Schools should inform parents if students are using e-cigarettes. A survey found that 90% of parents in the UK want to know if their children are smoking at school.
On November 27, according to the Daily Mail, a UK MP stated that schools should notify parents if their children are found using e-cigarettes on campus.
A recent survey showed that nine out of ten parents expressed a desire to be informed by schools if their children use e-cigarettes on school grounds.
Meanwhile, NASUWT research indicates that more than half of educators have witnessed students vaping during breaks.
Darren Northcott from the union said: “Our experience is that schools usually inform parents about significant misconduct. The biggest issue is that those under 18 can easily obtain e-cigarettes.
As part of a new crackdown, Scotland's younger generation may be banned from purchasing cigarettes or e-cigarettes.
