Hull Royal Infirmary promotes the use of recyclable vaping devices as an alternative to cigarettes, helping staff and visitors quit smoking.

According to Hulldailymail, Hull Royal Infirmary in the UK plans to distribute recyclable vaping devices to any smoking staff and visitors.

Starting Tuesday, a new team will be stationed outside the main entrance of Hull Royal Infirmary to offer smoking staff and visitors aged 18 and over the opportunity to swap cigarettes.

The hospital has a comprehensive smoking ban, and the “Swap and Stop” tobacco dependency treatment team provides support and medication to all admitted patients to help them manage cravings for cigarettes. Since its launch in August 2022, these measures have proven successful, with over one-third of patients remaining completely smoke-free one month after discharge.

However, the team is launching this new initiative to support everyone who comes to or works in the hospital to remain smoke-free, and members will be positioned at the hospital entrance to offer smoking visitors and staff the chance to exchange cigarettes for recyclable vaping devices.
