Two Men Detained by Pasuruan Customs in Indonesia for Smuggling Illegal Tobacco

The Pasuruan Customs in Indonesia announced the results of their crackdown on illegal tobacco trade, with two men detained for smuggling illegal tobacco, resulting in a financial loss of 277,301,816 Indonesian Rupiah for the country.

According to Gatra, the Pasuruan Customs held a press conference in collaboration with the local prosecutor's office to showcase the results of their investigation into illegal tobacco trading activities. Hatta Wardhana, head of the Pasuruan Customs, stated that their cooperation aims to completely eradicate illegal tobacco in the Pasuruan region. 

This joint investigation is a follow-up action to the customs' crackdown on a vehicle transporting untaxed tobacco. 

Meanwhile, the two male suspects, JIE and RM, have been detained, and the seized goods include 12 brands of illegal tobacco, totaling 316,800 sticks, with a total value reaching 401,504,000 Indonesian Rupiah, causing a financial loss of 277,301,816 Indonesian Rupiah to the state. 

This measure aims to deter criminals and remind business operators to strictly comply with relevant regulations.
