According to Capital, at the 2023 Thessaloniki Summit, JTI Greece CFO Haralambos Thamnidis and Corporate Affairs and Communications Director Georgia Karountzou shared the company’s business direction in Greece and its innovative heated tobacco products.
In the “ESG and Climate Crisis” section, Thamnidis outlined the main pillars of JTI’s sustainable development strategy, while stressing that “adopting an ESG strategy is a multidimensional, systemic issue” and “a one-way street.”
He also noted that JTI has experience in “non-obvious situations” and linked its goals in the country to its global sustainability strategy.
In fact, he said he believes that “by continuing to invest and by actively entering the heated products category through Ploom, we will contribute to creating new business opportunities throughout the production and trade process as well as the supply chain, while further increasing jobs and our contribution to public revenue, and at the same time reducing our environmental footprint.”
