Indonesia's Kudus regency promotes tax regulations, urges public help in fighting illegal tobacco
The government of Kudus Regency, Indonesia, has held a public outreach event on tax regulations, calling on the public to help combat illegal tobacco activities, with public welfare, law enforcement, and health identified as the main focus areas.
According to a flash report from Jateng, the government of Kudus Regency in Central Java, Indonesia, recently held a tax regulation awareness event mainly for security and public order officers as well as village officials.
The main purpose of the event was to provide in-depth public education and improve awareness of tax regulations, especially tobacco tax and illegal tobacco, in order to assist the government in cracking down on illegal tobacco. Speaking at the Kudus Regency council hall, Yusi Sasepti, head of the regency’s Communication and Information Service, also introduced other Kudus government initiatives related to promoting tax regulations.
Penanggungan stated that the region will receive IDR 36.216 billion in tobacco tax revenue in 2023. These funds will be used across various sectors, including public welfare, law enforcement, and health, as well as for outreach activities such as this one, in order to encourage the public to assist the government in fighting illegal tobacco.
