Phuket’s mayor has expressed concern over the widespread presence of vaping devices in educational institutions, worrying that teenagers are making their own e-liquid and calling for greater public attention.

According to a Matichon report on November 12, the mayor of Phuket, Thailand, voiced serious concern over the rapid spread of vaping devices in schools and other educational institutions, and is worried about the growing number of young people formulating their own e-liquid.

From October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023, vaping devices were found to be spreading within educational institutions in Phuket, with young people developing various forms of homemade e-liquid.

However, reports on drug trends also found an increase in the spread of narcotics in the area, among both buyers and sellers. Phuket authorities have adopted strict measures to prevent and reduce drug-related problems, assigning police and administrative officials to follow up and monitor online activity in Phuket.
