UK Disposable Vaping Advocacy Group: Recycling Is the Fundamental Solution to Environmental Pollutio
The UK disposable vaping recycling advocacy group "GREEN WINGS PROJECT" believes that banning disposable products does not fundamentally solve the problem of environmental pollution; the fundamental solution is recycling.
[Two Above reported from Birmingham] At the 2023 UK vaping exhibition on October 28, Two Above noticed a disposable vaping recycling advocacy group named "GREEN WINGS PROJECT." The organization claims to be dedicated to scientifically and effectively recycling disposable e-cigarettes in a harmless manner, and currently has several sponsors, including both vaping brands and logistics companies. Additionally, the organization collaborates with some social organizations.

Staff from the GREEN WINGS PROJECT at the exhibition told Two Above that, as a public welfare project, GREEN WINGS PROJECT offers free recycling of disposable e-cigarettes. Currently, the main brand sponsor for the organization is ELUX. Besides e-cigarette brands, the organization also collaborates with logistics companies like DHL and Royal Mail.

The aforementioned staff stated that many environmental organizations insist on a complete ban on disposable e-cigarettes, but just like the prohibition of alcohol in the United States decades ago, a ban alone cannot fundamentally solve the problem. Similarly, for disposable e-cigarettes, recycling is the fundamental solution. The GREEN WINGS PROJECT began to realize during the pandemic from 2020 to 2021 that e-cigarette sales suddenly increased, as one of the organization's founders previously worked in the logistics industry and wanted to start a harmless recycling public welfare project using e-cigarettes as a starting point. The organization currently focuses on e-cigarette recycling, with ELUX being its largest and closest partner brand.
Currently, the GREEN WINGS PROJECT has set up 6,000 recycling points in the UK, with over 10,000 recycling bins. Besides brand logistics partners, stores and distributors also choose to cooperate with them to save on recycling costs.
