From January to August 2023, China's e-cigarette exports reached $7,285,324,738, approximately 72.85 billion USD, equivalent to about RMB 53.27 billion at current exchange rates. Since February 2023, the unit price of e-cigarette exports has been continuously declining, dropping from a peak of $57.53/kg in February to $44.38/kg in August, a decrease of 22.85%.
According to data released by Chinese customs, from January to August 2023, the export value of Chinese e-cigarettes (including e-cigarettes and similar personal vaporizing devices, as well as other non-combustible nicotine products) was $7,285,324,738, approximately 72.85 billion USD, equivalent to RMB 53.27 billion; the export volume from January to August was 144,172,540 kg, about 144,172.54 tons; the average export unit price of e-cigarettes from January to August was $51.14/kg.
Data shows that the export value in April reached $1,034,843,994, approximately $10.35 billion (about RMB 7.5 billion), the highest for the first eight months; since April, the export volume of e-cigarettes has remained around 20,000 tons, with July's export volume reaching 20,300,718 kg, about 20.3 tons, setting a record for export volume in 2023; since February, the unit price of e-cigarette exports has been continuously declining, dropping from a peak of $57.53/kg in February to $44.38/kg in August, a decrease of 22.85%.
