FLONQ, KIWI and Others Launch New Products as Multiple Manufacturers Target the German Market

Key point: Brands including FLONQ and KIWI launched new products at the Dortmund exhibition, drawing wide attention as they work to expand in the German market.

Brands like FLONQ and KIWI launched new products at the Dortmund exhibition, attracting widespread attention as they strive to expand into the German market.

At the Dortmund Tobacco Exhibition, which opened on September 14, e-cigarette brands including FLONQ and KIWI unveiled new products, garnering significant interest. In fact, an increasing number of e-cigarette manufacturers are setting their sights on the German market.

FLONQ's new product line, FLONQ Max E, is smaller than the previous Max 8000/10000 sizes but still delivers excellent performance.

The new series, named FLONQ Max E Plus, features more environmentally friendly and intelligent characteristics. This series is specifically designed for the European market, meeting the stringent standards of European regulatory requirements. The German market has particularly strict regulations regarding product information, but due to its large size, FLONQ successfully entered the European market at the 2022 exhibition, and this year they are set to venture into the German market.

FLONQ told us that the new series has environmentally friendly and intelligent features. The market preference has shifted from the ALPHA series to the Plus series, reflecting consumers' pursuit of more sustainable and intelligent e-cigarette products

KIWI's new product line is called KIWI 2 Smart, which introduces vibration technology and rechargeable features. This series aims to distinguish itself from other brands through high quality and high price. However, KIWI has not achieved ideal sales results in the German market, partly due to strict market regulations and possibly due to local monopolies and regional brands.

Overall, the German e-cigarette market is quite attractive due to its scale and stability. However, compared to other countries, the regulatory environment in Germany is stricter, leading some small e-cigarette distributors to go out of business within three months after tax increases. Additionally, strict requirements regarding product packaging and compliance information have increased manufacturers' costs.

Some brands have also launched new product lines, such as Beco, with the newly introduced Beco-First Unio - Osens M series mesh core atomization products being favored by consumers for their neutral design compared to the previous Beak series. Although the development of each series and flavor takes six months, it has opened up more opportunities.

FLONQ and KIWI have also provided pure wooden display racks for distributors and retail stores, offering a more attractive display method for sales points and enhancing brand image. Additionally, applying for WEEE battery recycling qualifications demonstrates these brands' commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.

Meanwhile, although these two brands plan to launch more pod products, they are currently not allowed to be displayed due to packaging issues. However, industry insiders generally believe that pod products may become a trend in the future German market, which will change the competitive landscape of the e-cigarette industry.

It is worth noting that the German government has now banned e-cigarette advertising, making competition among brands even fiercer, as they must rely on innovation and word-of-mouth to attract consumers.

Some exhibitors believe that despite the challenges in the German market, the e-cigarette industry still views it as one of the markets with enormous potential. The innovative and environmentally friendly features of some brands will continue to attract German consumers and provide them with more choices.

The regulatory nature of the German market may impact pricing and packaging, but brands are prepared to respond to meet market demands.
