Is Vaping in Malaysia Skewing Younger?

On August 27, it was reported that according to a research report from the medical and life sciences team at Sunway University in Malaysia, the usage rate of electronic cigarettes among Malaysian teenagers has risen from 9.8% in 2017 to 14.9% in 2022.

At the same time, researchers at Sunway University analyzed 10 brands of e-liquid and found that 70% of the e-liquids contained higher PG levels than indicated on the labels. The undisclosed chemical components and inconsistent ingredient lists highlight the need for Malaysian health authorities to strengthen regulation through strict product registration and post-market monitoring.
