70% of China’s Vaping Exports to the U.S. Are Disposables
News on August 27: According to statistics from China Customs data, China’s e-cigarette exports to the United States reached US$1.489 billion from January to June 2023, accounting for 48.20% of last year’s full-year export value, down 2.2% year on year, and representing 27.15% of China’s total export value.

Among them, April recorded the highest e-cigarette export value and export volume in the first half of the year, reaching US$307 million and 6,319.47 tons respectively. The data shows that from January to March this year, China’s e-cigarette export value to the United States fluctuated significantly compared with the previous year, while from April to June it was relatively stable year on year. However, unlike the trend in export value, from February to June China’s e-cigarette export volume to the United States maintained year-on-year growth of about 30%. By product category, from January to June 2023, China’s exports of disposable e-cigarettes to the U.S. reached US$1.1 billion, accounting for about 74% of China’s total e-cigarette exports to the United States, with an average monthly export value of about US$183 million. Exports of other e-cigarette products (mainly pod-based and open-system products) totaled US$389 million, with an average monthly export value of about US$65 million.
