Hohhot Police Bust Cross-Province Illegal E-cigarette Resale Network Worth Over RMB 5 Million

On August 22, the Ecological Environment, Food and Drug Crime Investigation Team of the Yuquan District Police Bureau successfully dismantled a major cross-province illegal resale network for e-cigarettes and seized three illegal e-cigarette production sites.
On March 27, 2023, the Environmental, Food and Drug Investigation Team of the Yuquan District Public Security Bureau received a tip-off about a large quantity of e-cigarette products other than tobacco flavors stored in a warehouse in Yuquan District. After receiving the lead, the investigating officers took it seriously and immediately conducted covert investigations in collaboration with the Yuquan District Tobacco Bureau, gradually uncovering the suspects' movements, residences, and stock locations.
Investigations revealed that the suspect, identified as A, was connected to a person named Gao from the Shenzhen area, marking this case as a major cross-province e-cigarette trafficking operation. The Hohhot police dispatched work teams to Shenzhen, Dongguan, Shantou, and other locations more than ten times for long-term investigations and evidence collection, spanning over five months.
On the afternoon of August 22, five arrest teams from Shenzhen and Hohhot coordinated to successfully apprehend six suspects, dismantle three illegal e-cigarette production sites, and seize two e-cigarette production machines along with over 10,000 pieces of semi-finished e-liquid and more than 40,000 e-cigarettes, valued at over 5 million RMB. The case is currently under further investigation.
