Will U.S. Restrictions on Vape Marketing Tighten?
On August 22, news emerged that a new official is set to change the regulatory landscape? Recently, a former FDA tobacco official will take over as CEO of a public health organization, replacing Robin Koval, who has served as CEO and president for 10 years, starting October 2, 2023.

Crosby, prior to joining the Truth Initiative, served as the Director of the Office of Health Communication and Education at the FDA's Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) for 12 years. Crosby has a 25-year career in behavior change marketing and advertising, holding several senior leadership positions in both the private and nonprofit sectors. Notable achievements under her leadership include involvement in developing health warnings for cigarette packaging and advertising, groundbreaking research on health equity, regulation of emerging tobacco products, and implementing strict marketing restrictions on newly authorized tobacco products. Additionally, as the CTP's Director of Health Communication and Education, Crosby oversaw significant initiatives that played a crucial role in reducing smoking. These initiatives included creating a comprehensive communication office, developing tailored advertising campaigns for high-risk populations, establishing a tobacco education resource library, executing a robust conference presentation program, and launching the FDA's resources center for preventing and educating about e-cigarettes.
