Eight Export Batches Already Shipped: Dongguan Vaping Exports Gain a New Logistics Channel
At the "Dongguan-Hong Kong International Airport Center" (referred to as the "Airport Center"), batches of e-cigarettes are completing all boarding procedures such as customs clearance, security checks, and packaging in a "one-stop" manner, and are being shipped to Hong Kong Airport via the Bay Area Express Line for direct loading onto planes bound for the world.
Dongguan Port International Air Transport (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Port Group, is the first operator registered under the Hong Kong Customs e-cigarette transshipment regulatory program. So far, it has completed eight batches of e-cigarette air transport export business from the Airport Center, with a total value exceeding 20 million yuan.
It is understood that Dongguan has a solid foundation for the e-cigarette industry. Currently, there are 109 licensed e-cigarette companies in Dongguan, with an industry scale approaching 30 billion yuan. In June of this year, the Hong Kong Legislative Council passed amendments to the "Import and Export Ordinance," which took effect on June 30, exempting alternative smoking products transshipped through Hong Kong Airport by sea and air from restrictions. This allows mainland e-cigarettes to be exported to countries around the world via the Airport Center's sea-air combined transport, bringing new development opportunities for Dongguan's e-cigarette export business.
To ensure that the Airport Center can promptly undertake related business after the Hong Kong Legislative Council's approval, the Port Group has proactively conducted a series of research on e-cigarette business, fully communicating business details with the Hong Kong Airport Authority, Huangpu Customs, and Dongguan Maritime Safety Administration, actively connecting with freight forwarders and factories, and holding promotional meetings for e-cigarette business. On July 13, the first batch of e-cigarette goods was transshipped from the Airport Center to Hong Kong Airport for export to the United States, marking the official launch of the Airport Center's e-cigarette air transport export business.
The Port Group stated that it will continue to strengthen support for the development of Dongguan e-cigarette companies, committed to providing better services for Dongguan e-cigarette companies and offering flexible, efficient, and cost-effective air transport export channels for e-cigarette products made in Dongguan.
