Huangshan Launches Three Measures to Deepen Crackdown on Illegal E-Cigarette Sales

Breaking: The local market regulation bureau recently issued a notice adopting three measures to intensify inspections and rectification of illegal e-cigarette sales around schools.

Recently, the Municipal Market Supervision Administration issued a notice launching three measures to further deepen the investigation and rectification campaign targeting illegal sales of e-cigarettes around school campuses.

First, it will establish a dedicated work ledger for the special campaign and promptly carry out thorough and comprehensive inspections and rectification of e-cigarette sales, while cracking down hard on illegal sales activities. Second, it will implement territorial responsibility through area-based assignments, strengthen control measures against illegal e-cigarette sales, ensure responsibilities are assigned to specific personnel, actions are implemented in specific locations, and inspections cover e-cigarette retail outlets. Third, it will strengthen oversight of online channels, with a focus on merchants’ online sales of e-cigarettes on internet platforms, e-cigarette-related information, and false or illegal advertising, while also increasing inspections of new sales channels such as self-media accounts and Douyin short videos, and urging internet platforms and e-cigarette production and business operators to fulfill their primary responsibilities.

According to the investigation so far, no illegal sales of e-cigarettes targeting minors have been found in our city at present.
