Murphy RDA: The Secret of a Post Without Screws

Many experienced users may remember always carrying a bag of tools everywhere, ready to replace coils and cotton at any time. Back then, using heavily sweetened e-liquid often meant changing the coil after just two tankfuls. The atomizer we are discussing

Many veteran players, since they first entered the scene, may, like me, carry a large bag of tools wherever they go, always ready to change coils and cotton. In those days, it was quite tough, as the high carbon buildup in e-liquids almost required changing the heating wire every two tanks.

Murphy RDA: The Secret of a Post Without Screws Today, I want to mention an atomizer that has revolutionized the traditional electrode screw structure; perhaps from now on, atomizers with screw-type electrodes will become a thing of the past. This atomizer is the Murphy RDA.   You can see that the designer has put a lot of thought into the appearance of this atomizer, and the craftsmanship is quite sincere.   The 810 drip tip features a textured design that not only enhances the three-dimensional feel but also provides a non-slip effect.   The top gear design shows the difficulty of CNC processing.   The inner chamber has an arched design at the top, which helps concentrate the smoke, making it richer.  Murphy RDA: The Secret of a Post Without Screws As seen in the image, the Murphy atomizer features a dual-post four-hole structure. In terms of appearance, it doesn't look too different from other atomizers with electrodes, so let's continue to explore. However, I do have a question here: Can an atomizer without electrode screws really secure the heating wire?   The secret of the Murphy's screwless electrode lies here; players only need to press down on the spring-loaded plate at the top of the electrode, which creates space for the heating wire to be installed. Once released, the spring will re-compress the plate to secure the heating wire in place.   After adjusting the position of the wire, simply release the plate without needing any other tools.  Murphy RDA: The Secret of a Post Without Screws The spring force is quite strong; after securing the heating wire, I tried to pull the wire back and forth, and it wouldn't budge, indicating that the heating wire will not loosen due to the absence of screws.   After trimming the excess wire, you can start wicking with cotton.   For those who prefer dual coils, you can slightly adjust the wire to the same vertical angle for easier alignment with the slots to secure the heating wire. However, the internal space is still quite large; the image shows a 3.0mm diameter 5-wrap Clapton heating wire, which fits without any pressure.   For a single Clapton 3.0mm diameter 5-wrap 0.25Ω, the first time using this atomizer, the flavor is quite prominent. It seems that the Murphy atomizer's highlights are not just the screwless electrode; the flavor performance is also quite impressive.   Review:   1. The Murphy atomizer is a side airflow dripping atomizer, which reduces the chances of leaking compared to bottom airflow atomizers;   2. I found that using the screwless electrode for the first time was quite easy, and there were no issues with loosening; the heating wire did not experience any contact issues;   3. In terms of flavor, it can be said to be "beyond expectations"; I initially thought the manufacturer had focused most of their energy on the electrode design, but I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor performance as well.   That's all for the introduction to the Murphy atomizer.
