What Should You Do If No E-Liquid Has Any Flavor?

What should you do if no e-liquid has any flavor? New vapers who are unfamiliar with electronic cigarettes may feel panic when they find that no matter what e-liquid they try, it has no taste. This phenomenon is known as vapor tongue (also referred to as taste fatigue), a term that originated in Europe and the United States.

The issue lies in the taste system of e-cigarette users becoming less sensitive to the flavors in the e-liquid. In China, this phenomenon is commonly referred to as taste fatigue. The specific problems manifest as follows: "Why can't I taste anything when I vape this liquid?" "This liquid was great, but suddenly it tastes hard to smoke! Why?" Such questions are often common among novice users.
What should you do if no e-liquid has any flavor? New users tend to stick to the same type of e-liquid once they find one they like, making it easy to use the same liquid for a long time. This does not mean that experienced users do not encounter this embarrassing phenomenon. Experienced users usually try various flavors of e-liquid throughout the day, constantly refreshing their flavor tolerance threshold to avoid taste fatigue. However, after prolonged exposure to the same flavor, taste buds and olfactory cells may resist the same taste (also known as tolerance threshold), and on this basis, the human body has different thresholds for different flavors. For example, my smoky e-liquid uses two flavors: strawberry and kiwi.

We first resist the strawberry flavor. Then you will feel that the strawberry flavor of this smoky e-liquid becomes lighter. It becomes strange. Another situation is that new users who have never been exposed to electronic cigarettes are extremely sensitive to flavors during their first encounter. They find the vapor very pleasant and flavorful.

But after a while, the e-liquid may become tasteless. This is also a matter of tolerance threshold, but it is not just fatigue from one or a few flavors; it is fatigue from all flavors (after all, there has not been long-term exposure to a large number of flavors), which leads to the aforementioned situation, and almost all e-liquids are perceived as aromatic. So how can we improve this situation? There are many methods.
What should you do if no e-liquid has any flavor? The first is to apply the most direct stimulation to the taste buds (for example, using absolute zero e-liquid, chewing toothpaste, etc.) to awaken the taste buds and olfactory cells and regain sensitivity to flavors. However, this method has its drawbacks. The reawakened sensitivity does not last long, and sensory sensitivity usually declines again within a few hours.

The second method is to allow time for sedimentation (not that time will take everything away, but it works this way). You can choose to stop using electronic cigarettes for a while and wait for the recovery of taste sensitivity, or you can choose to continue vaping, but the recovery time will be longer.

The third solution is slightly different from the above two methods. The key is to prevent taste fatigue from occurring. This means avoiding long-term use of the same e-liquid, which can effectively prevent the occurrence of taste fatigue by constantly changing the threshold of taste sensation cells. The issue of taste fatigue is very common, and even if it is a zipper, it will continue to appear in our vapes.
