Hands-On Impressions of the 4th Generation IQOS 3.0
There are many IQOS users, and this fourth-generation 3.0 version is a new release this year. I just got my hands on it not long ago and have seen many people interested, so I wanted to share my impressions of its use.
This IQOS differs from previous models in many ways, but my initial impression when I first received it was mainly about its appearance. The device consists of a cartridge + body + heater, but the material and shape of the shell have undergone significant changes. Starting with the body, the shell has been changed to a matte material, which is quite rare in the e-cigarette industry. It feels much more comfortable in hand compared to smooth plastic shells and looks much more high-end. IQOS has always followed a high-end design route, so this isn't too surprising.
Another change in appearance is the heater. The heater has also been changed to a matte texture, and its shape has undergone a significant transformation. Previously, the ports were built into the heater, but this time they have set the opening on one side, leaving a separate position, so it no longer has a square shape, giving it a more technological feel.
However, as an e-cigarette, the most important aspect is the performance experience. The fourth-generation IQOS 3.0 is not the first e-cigarette I have used, so I had a comparison when I first tried it. Compared to other e-cigarettes I have used, the flavor is richer, and the smoke is warm. The e-cigarettes I used before employed distillation technology, so the smoke lacked warmth, but the IQOS series uses heat-not-burn technology, which heats the tobacco to release aroma, allowing smokers to feel the warmth of the smoke.
Compared to traditional cigarettes, the flavor is much lighter, especially during the first few puffs, where it feels insufficient. Fortunately, this feeling only lasts for two or three days, and by the third day, I no longer felt uncomfortable, and the light flavor actually made me feel cleaner.
After using it for a while, the difference between it and traditional cigarettes became increasingly apparent. I found traditional cigarettes harder to smoke, and I couldn't quite describe the flavor, just that it felt greasy and made me a bit nauseous after smoking too much. As a result, even when I craved a cigarette, I didn't want to touch traditional cigarettes, and gradually, completely quitting the smoking habit seems to be just around the corner.
Additionally, it's worth mentioning that I find the flavor of the fourth-generation IQOS to be relatively clean, which is closely related to its heating technology. Heat-not-burn means that the temperature of the tobacco during smoking is limited, and harmful substances like tar and carbon monoxide are mostly released at high temperatures. By lowering the temperature, IQOS also reduces the harm.
Therefore, I think the fourth-generation IQOS 3.0 is quite good, and smokers in need may consider it.
