Dr. Gauden Galea, the WHO representative in China, recently pointed out that the World Health Organization is pleased to see China further tighten its existing tobacco advertising ban. He urged the National People's Congress of China to consider further amendments to the Advertising Law, “to achieve a comprehensive ban on tobacco advertising, promotion, and sponsorship as stipulated by the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.” This was stated by Galea during a media briefing held at the WHO office in China.
