When will the new IQOS 3.0 launch? Philip Morris International announced on October 23 that it will release the new heated tobacco product IQOS 3.0 in Japan on November 15. The latest products, IQOS 3.0 and IQOS 3.0 Multi, will be launched. Additionally, PMI will also release higher quality and more affordable HEETS tobacco sticks in Japan to meet the diverse needs of consumers...

The new IQOS will be available for sale in Japan's specialty stores and online, priced at 8,980 yen (approximately 554 RMB), with four color options including white and blue. Furthermore, improvements have been made to the design and functionality of the previously rechargeable models, priced at 10,980 yen (approximately 678 RMB).
IQOS was launched in Japan in 2016. Philip Morris International was the first to gain users ahead of other tobacco companies. Although the taste of IQOS is close to that of traditional cigarettes, it does not have the continuous puffing feature like competing products "Ploom TECH" (Japan Tobacco) and "GLO" (British American Tobacco). Recent estimates show that IQOS's market share is gradually being taken away.

Philip Morris International's CEO, André Calantzopoulos, stated at a press conference on the 23rd, "Although the growth rate in Japan has slowed, the market for heated tobacco products continues to expand. We hope to gain more users through new products."

In the past three years, the demand for traditional cigarettes in Japan has decreased by 30%, while IQOS's market share in the Japanese tobacco market has remained around 15% since 2018, with more people choosing new tobacco products that utilize heated, non-combustion technology. Tan Chongbo stated that while completely quitting smoking is the ideal scenario, the reality is that most people cannot break free from their dependence on tobacco products, so PMI provides less harmful tobacco products for smokers.
