Hunan China Tobacco Industrial Co., Ltd. held its first progress report meeting on the research and development of new tobacco products in 2018. Company leaders, relevant personnel from the technology research and development center, all R&D staff from the new tobacco products research institute, as well as personnel from the legal and reform department, import and export department, and Shenzhen Xiangyuan Technology Company attended the meeting.

The meeting heard reports and analyses on the market situation, product research progress, and work planning for ultrasonic electronic cigarettes and HNB (heated non-burning) products. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions regarding the brand promotion and sales team layout for the company's ultrasonic electronic cigarette Usonicig, as well as improvements and market launch of HNB product prototypes.

The meeting highly recognized the professionalism of the new tobacco R&D personnel and the current progress in product research, while also proposing specific requirements for ultrasonic electronic cigarettes and HNB products, namely "technology serving market demand" and "market guiding product R&D."

On December 14 last year, Shenzhen Xiangyuan Technology Co., Ltd. officially delivered the first batch of products (300 sets, 1200 atomizers) required by a UK client to the shipping company, officially marking the beginning of Hunan China Tobacco's overseas launch of new tobacco products. The intellectual property of this product belongs to Hunan China Tobacco, developed jointly by Shenzhen Xiangyuan Technology Co., Ltd. and the Hunan China Tobacco Technology R&D Center over three years, with a total of 242 domestic and international patents applied for, including 37 international patents.

In 2016, the world's first "ultrasonic atomization electronic cigarette" made a stunning debut at the Hunan China Tobacco Technology Center, instantly attracting the attention of the global tobacco industry. This technology, known as "ultrasonic smoke (U-sonicig)," breaks away from the traditional electronic cigarette heating wire atomization concept and achieves a patent breakthrough for Chinese tobacco enterprises in electronic cigarette atomization technology.

In 2012, Hunan China Tobacco approved the scientific project of "research on non-burning tobacco products." In the initial phase, Hunan China Tobacco focused its research on smokeless tobacco products such as oral tobacco and advanced the project in a project team format within the technology center. In 2013, Hunan China Tobacco focused its research on electronic cigarettes and heated non-burning cigarettes (also known as "low-temperature tobacco"). In July 2014, the Hunan China Tobacco Technology Center's new tobacco products research institute was officially established. In 2015, in the global electronic cigarette manufacturing hub of Shenzhen, a company named "Xiangyuan Technology Co., Ltd." was officially established. This company was jointly funded by Hunan China Tobacco and the largest local electronic cigarette manufacturer in Shenzhen, with personnel from Hunan dispatched to manage and conduct research, aiming to create an open innovation platform to attract talents from interdisciplinary fields such as electronics, structures, and materials.

Compared to traditional electronic cigarettes, ultrasonic atomization technology produces a larger amount of vapor and operates at a relatively lower temperature. As a result, the release of harmful substances in ultrasonic atomization electronic cigarettes is reduced by more than 70% compared to resistance wire heated electronic cigarettes. Based on this technology, Hunan China Tobacco has applied for a series of protective patents, totaling 109 domestic and international patents, which not only break through the patent blockade of multinational tobacco companies but also provide important technical support and intellectual property protection for future enterprises to seize the high ground in the research and development of new tobacco products.
