Hooked on Vaping After Six Months of Getting Into It
Let me introduce myself first. I was born in the 1990s and have been smoking for about eight years. I usually smoke around two packs every three days, and even more when drinking or playing LOL. After getting into vaping for six months, I became addicted
Let me introduce myself first. I am a post-95s individual with about 8 years of smoking experience, consuming about 2 packs every 3 days, and even more when drinking or playing League of Legends! After getting into e-cigarettes for six months, I'm addicted to vaping!
In July 2017, I casually chatted with a colleague about e-cigarettes, and then went home to search for information online, which led me down the rabbit hole of vaping.
Now, after half a year, I've transitioned from pre-filled devices to refillable ones, and from basic coils to complex builds. Honestly, I’m deeply hooked; saying I’m addicted is no exaggeration!

However, I have yet to try mechanical mods. I value my life, and while mechanical mods may look cool and powerful, they pose safety risks for someone as careless as me, so I’m cautious about that!
Next, I will share my experiences and insights from these six months of vaping, hoping my sharing can provide some reference for those who are considering or have already started vaping, helping them avoid some pitfalls! Experts, please ignore!!!
Firstly, my initial intention was not to quit smoking, nor did I plan to quit, but rather to replace smoking with a healthier alternative.
Now, I occasionally smoke a real cigarette when dining out with friends, and it makes me feel dizzy, haha. I’m 99% vaping now, so I consider that a successful switch.
Many people have questions about the dangers of e-cigarettes compared to traditional cigarettes.
E-cigarettes do have risks; their principle is to vaporize e-liquid using a coil to produce vapor.
The main components of e-liquid are VG (vegetable glycerin, which produces vapor), PG (propylene glycol, which provides throat hit), flavorings, and nicotine (to satisfy cravings).
Traditional cigarettes produce smoke through the combustion of tobacco, with the primary dangers being tar and carbon monoxide. There is a fundamental difference between smoke and vapor.
According to the BBC, e-cigarettes are reported to be 95% less harmful than traditional cigarettes. Interested readers can check online for more information.
If you’ve decided to try e-cigarettes, let me briefly explain the components of e-cigarettes and how beginners should choose.
E-cigarettes consist of a battery (power device) + atomizer + e-liquid.

E-liquids generally come in nicotine strengths of 0mg, 3mg, 6mg, 12mg, etc. The higher the nicotine content, the stronger the throat hit. The so-called lung-hitting big clouds are usually 0mg or 3mg.
E-liquid is also the main consumable for e-cigarettes, and there are many fakes on the market, so when purchasing, don’t just go for the cheap options; for your health, choose genuine products.
The battery can be divided into regulated boxes (usually with temperature control) and mechanical mods. The latter two lack safety features, making short circuits potentially dangerous.
Atomizers are divided into pre-made and DIY types. Pre-made ones just require periodic replacement of the coil, while DIY requires you to build your own coils, which can be more cost-effective and provide better flavor than pre-made ones.
For those preparing to start vaping, I recommend choosing a regulated box mod that you like, paired with a pre-made atomizer to start. If you enjoy it, you can later explore DIY options.
That’s all for today. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. If you like my content, please follow me! I will bring you a more detailed beginner's guide to vaping, covering device selection, e-liquid choices, and more.
I’m a vaping enthusiast, a post-95s individual, a laid-back health-conscious person, love road trips, love e-cigarettes, and love you!
