According to Beijing time on the 9th, the state of Montana on Tuesday issued a 120-day ban on the sale of flavored vaping products, effective October 22, saying that the increasingly popular products are harming teenagers. Montana has become the seventh U.S. state to order a ban on the sale of flavored vapes.
Montana Governor Bullock said that there have been 1,080 confirmed cases of vaping-related lung illness nationwide, including two in Montana. In 48 states and one U.S. territory, 21 deaths related to vaping use have been reported. More than half of the patients are under the age of 25.
As vaping products face increasingly strict regulation and related lung illnesses continue to spread, multiple U.S. retailers have announced that they will remove these products from shelves. After Walmart, the largest U.S. retailer, announced last month that it would stop selling vaping products, Walgreens Boots Alliance, the largest U.S. drugstore chain operator, and supermarket giant Kroger also announced on Monday that they would stop selling such products.
