A Detailed Beginner's Practice Video Guide on Vape Ring Tricks

 Introduction:

In late May and early June 2017, I began my journey with electronic cigarettes. Initially, I started with a stick, but later realized I needed something to heat the wire, so I switched to a box mod and various accessories. I skipped the pre-made products and jumped straight into DIY.

(However, I do not recommend this approach; it's better to take your time and understand the basics of electronic cigarettes before diving into DIY, hehe.)

 My Experience with Smoke Rings:

I started learning about smoke rings by browsing vape forums. I spent a whole day studying and memorizing the common points mentioned in various articles and videos. The next day, I began practicing.

From the second day until the eighth day, my smoke rings started to take shape and stabilize, but I was told by experts that I needed to increase my force. This was frustrating because at that time, if I applied more force, the smoke would disperse, and if I used less, it would be too light.

However, I really enjoy the culture of electronic cigarettes, and my personality is such that I like to research things on my own. So, I started watching videos again, carefully studying the coughing sounds and mouth shapes in the tutorials. I realized that the mouth shape is indeed a very important factor in producing good smoke rings. To this day, I still tell new friends in QQ groups that mouth shape is crucial.

Adjust your mouth shape to what feels right for you, then cough. The cough should be short and forceful, using a clever kind of strength, not just blind force.

With each cough, I summarize and recall the feeling of each ring in my mind, rather than practicing blindly. The growth rate of practicing with feeling versus practicing blindly is vastly different, and this is one of the key points.

Key Analysis and Practice Methods for Vape Ring Tricks (Personal Summary):

1. Mouth Shape (I believe this is the most important point): My mouth shape just covers my teeth, not enclosing them (as shown in the image).

I hope this can be understood. It’s not about enclosing but merely covering the teeth. This mouth shape doesn’t require as much force as enclosing the teeth; just a bit of pressure to cover is enough. I believe this is achievable, and comparing the two methods will reveal a significant difference (provided you can blow out rings). In practice, the size should be about that of a drink bottle opening or slightly larger; it’s best to practice in front of a mirror.

Blowing smoke rings should be done from the bottom up, and don’t always blow in one direction.

Demonstration of Correct and Incorrect Techniques for Vape Ring Tricks

When you find the right mouth shape, stop looking in the mirror and prepare to cough. This is my personal suggestion for mouth shape; if it works for you, great! If not, you can explore your own preferred mouth shape for blowing smoke rings, as it varies from person to person.

2. Coughing:

Coughing is a short, quick action. In the beginning, you don’t need to use too much force; just lightly cough to find the feeling of a gentle cough from your throat, then gradually increase the force.

When you discover what force combined with what mouth shape produces what kind of smoke ring, you’ve already succeeded halfway. This is the feeling I found during my initial practice.

Secondly, the cough should be a quick, short burst of power; it must be brief. If it drags on, the smoke will linger too much, so the cough should be a short, powerful action. When you find that the size of your mouth shape combined with the right amount of force produces a ring that moves forward, your fundamentals are essentially in place (keep your tongue still).

(First, blow out a puff of smoke: this is because after inhaling, smoke remains in the throat, and blowing some out helps fill the throat and mouth with smoke for better ring blowing.

Secondly, practice standing; sitting or adopting strange postures can disrupt airflow. Sitting can cause internal heat to rise and scatter the airflow, so practice should be done standing.

Lastly, don’t overdo it; remember to take breaks.)

The two basic points, techniques, and key points I’ve mentioned are all important; don’t just watch without practicing. All achievements come from—practice.
