Over 400 vaping companies have urged FedEx to reverse its policy banning the shipment and receipt of vaping products. The American Vaping Association (AVA) wrote to FedEx, insisting that the delivery ban will prevent consumers from obtaining the vaping devices and e-liquids they use to quit smoking.

FedEx's current regulations, which changed due to the Preventing Online Sales of E-Cigarettes to Children Act, prohibit the shipment of vaping products from business to business or directly to vaping users.

The letter states: “We rely on companies like FedEx to stock our shelves and meet customer demand.” “Due to the inability to wholesale order vaping products or ship products to consumers, vape shops have seen their shipping costs skyrocket or completely disappear. If consumers cannot access or afford these lower-risk cigarette alternatives, they will be forced to turn to combustible tobacco, which is more dangerous and will have lifelong health impacts.”

“FedEx is causing significant harm to small businesses and consumers in the U.S.,” said AVA President Greg Conley. “They are playing into the hands of big tobacco companies that directly benefit from policies that make switching for adult smokers more expensive. Vaping products are not only legal and regulated by the FDA, but they also save lives by keeping people away from combustible cigarettes.”
