As part of the “smoke-free city” initiative launched in 2018, the southern metropolis of Shenzhen has announced a ban on the sale of tobacco and nicotine products within 50 meters of primary and secondary schools. Additionally, the city aims to increase the proportion of “smoke-free households” to at least 50% within three years, reducing the exposure rate to secondhand smoke in homes to below 20%. <\/div>
Shenzhen is known for producing about 95% of the world’s e-cigarettes, but it has implemented some of the strictest policies in China. The smoke-free community initiative launched in Shenzhen in 2018 requires community health centers to provide smoking cessation services to high-risk residents, such as those with chronic diseases. <\/div>
