Medical Experts Advise Regular Cleaning of Vape Mouthpieces
Medical experts recommend cleaning vape mouthpieces regularly to reduce hygiene risks and support safer everyday use of vaping devices.

Suzi Gage, a university scholar studying recreational drug use, stated that moisture associated with inhaling vapor could harbor bacteria. She suggests that insufficient regular cleaning of e-cigarettes or vaping devices could make users sick.

Gage mentioned that there is little known about the health risks of nicotine. She said: “We know what the harms of tobacco are, which include tar, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, heavy metals, and dozens or even hundreds of carcinogens found in tobacco.”

“These substances are either absent in e-cigarettes, which do not contain tobacco, or they may be present but at levels lower than in cigarettes. However, this does not mean that e-cigarettes are harmless, as inhaling heated vapor may pose other risks that we are still unaware of.

“For example, moisture associated with vapor could harbor bacteria, especially when these devices are reused rather than used once like cigarettes. If you are a user of vaping devices, consider how often you clean the mouthpiece you put in your mouth.”
