Daxing Airport: Woman Detained 5 Days for Using Disposable Vape on Plane
A passenger at Daxing Airport was detained for five days after using a disposable vape onboard, highlighting stricter enforcement of aviation safety rules.
According to a short video posted by the Fazhi Jiningshi Douyin account, at 10 p.m. on June 1, the first night after flights resumed at Beijing Daxing Airport, a female passenger on a flight from Hanzhong to Beijing was detained by airport police for 5 days for using an e-cigarette on the plane.

According to cabin crew members in the video, the aircraft was about to land when staff were carrying out a routine safety check and discovered that a woman was vaping in her seat. The crew stopped her immediately and then reported the incident to airport police.
When questioned by police, the woman said she did not know that e-cigarettes were not allowed to be used on board. She admitted her mistake and apologized to both the police and the crew.
According to the requirements of the Notice of the Public Security Bureau of the Civil Aviation Administration of China on Maintaining Civil Aviation Order and Ensuring Air Transport Safety, the Public Security Administration Punishments Law of the People's Republic of China, and the Civil Aviation Security Regulations of the People's Republic of China, the use of all tobacco products on aircraft is strictly prohibited, including e-cigarettes.
In addition, vapor from e-cigarettes can also trigger the aircraft's smoke detectors. If the cause cannot be confirmed quickly, the plane may be forced to make an emergency landing at a nearby airport, creating a dangerous situation.
In the end, the woman was given an administrative detention of 5 days by airport police for disrupting order on a public transport vehicle.
