On July 23, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed a new vaping bill into law, making it a criminal offense for people under 21 to possess vaping products.

In addition, like traditional tobacco products in the state, vaping products will also be subject to an excise tax of up to 7%. The new tax is expected to generate about $4.3 billion in annual revenue.

House Bill 375 passed both chambers of the Georgia legislature by overwhelming margins.

Under the new law, anyone under 21 found using vaping products will face a fine or community service, and any confiscated vaping products will become state property and be destroyed.
