Zhuhai Customs Seizes Smuggled Cannabis Vape E-Liquid
Zhuhai Customs seized suspected cannabis vape e-liquid hidden inside an international mail parcel declared as a sweets gift and sent from the UK via mainland China to Macau.
News: According to China Economic Net, on May 26, the Jiuzhou Customs under Zhuhai Gongbei Customs discovered an anomaly in a parcel declared as "sweets gift" during the supervision of an international mail shipment from the UK to Macau.<\/div>

Upon inspection, customs officers found that the parcel contained not only candies and a ballpoint pen but also three bottles of e-liquid for electronic cigarettes, which emitted a slight smell of cannabis, suspected to be cannabis-derived e-liquid.<\/div>

Subsequently, the Jiuzhou Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau collaborated with the Zhuhai Public Security Bureau and the Macau Judicial Police to conduct a cross-border joint operation.<\/div>

On May 28, authorities in Macau arrested one suspect at the scene and seized three bottles of e-liquid.<\/div>
<\/div>
After identification, it was confirmed that the three bottles contained cannabis components. Later, a vaporizer used for consuming cannabis e-liquid was found at the suspect's residence.<\/div>

The suspect claimed that the cannabis products seized were a birthday gift from a friend. The case is currently under further investigation.<\/div>

Customs officials explained that cannabis e-liquids contain high-purity cannabis extracts, which are more addictive and deceptive than traditional cannabis. According to the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China and the Customs Law of the People's Republic of China, cannabis and its products are classified as drugs, and mailing, carrying, or consuming them is illegal.<\/div>
