After one year of construction preparation, the SMOK Tower project officially began construction at 11:58 a.m. on June 2, 2020. It is expected to be completed in 2022.
The SMOK Tower project is being built by China Construction Third Engineering Bureau. It is located on the south side of the intersection of Guangguang Road and Guangming Avenue in Guangming District. The project covers an area of 6,400 square meters, with a total construction area of approximately 38,000 square meters, and a planned investment of about RMB 870 million.
The project is an important engineering initiative aligned with Guangming District’s development goal of accelerating the construction of a “quality-driven, innovation-driven, intelligent manufacturing powerhouse district and a modern, international, green urban district.” It is also intended to promote industrial transformation and upgrading in Guangming District and foster high-value-added, high-end manufacturing.
SMOK stated that upon completion, the tower will help drive the transformation and upgrading of the entire vaping device industry toward high-end manufacturing, integrate upstream and downstream industry resources for collaborative development, improve product quality and services, enhance corporate and brand competitiveness, and create a new advanced and comprehensive industrial ecosystem.
At the same time, the project has received strong attention and support from government authorities at all levels in Guangming District, Shenzhen, and all work has progressed smoothly, with the project showing positive construction momentum.
It is expected that in 2022, SMOK Tower will rise in the Guangming Modern Industrial Park and become a new landmark for regional economic development.
