Real vs Fake IQOS 3.0 Mainboard Comparison
A customer repair case raised doubts about an IQOS 3.0 charging case after teardown revealed unusual ribbon cable colors, missing parts, and structural differences, prompting a real-vs-fake comparison.
There have been constant reports in the market lately about fake IQOS 3.0 devices, but we hadn’t come across one ourselves. Recently, a customer sent in a charging case for repair. After opening it up, we found several things that seemed off: the ribbon cable color, missing components, and even a component cover. Since these mass-produced devices normally never have such changes, I still can’t say for certain whether it’s counterfeit. I’m posting it online for everyone to help identify it, and I’m also asking others in the trade to analyze it. I should have the results in the next few days, and I’ll share an update with everyone then.
