Malaysia’s Health Minister, Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad, said the country is moving toward a nationwide ban on vaping devices, with the Ministry of Health planning to finalize and implement the policy by the end of 2026. He noted that the Cabinet has agreed in principle to ban vaping products and stressed that the question is no longer whether to ban them, but when. The ministry is expected to resubmit the matter to the Cabinet early next year to complete the regulatory and legislative process.
Dzulkefly pointed out that public health concerns are becoming increasingly serious, especially drug-induced psychosis cases linked to adulterated vape liquids and synthetic substances. He said a special task force under the Ministry of Health is working with medical experts to monitor such cases.
