Israel’s Ministry of Health announced today (March 6) that, in an effort to deter smokers, it will require graphic warning images to be printed on cigarette packs. The images include rotting organs, people on ventilators, and children surrounded by cigarette smoke. The graphic photos will supplement the existing written warnings.

Health Minister Uriel Busso said: “This is another important step to reduce the appeal of tobacco products and prevent youth addiction to tobacco and nicotine.”
The regulation will apply to a range of tobacco products, including cigarettes, e-cigarettes, hookah, and chewing tobacco. Israel will become one of the first countries in the world to require comprehensive health warnings on e-cigarettes and their components.
