UK Shop Seized for £2,000 Worth of Illegal Vapes; Councillor Calls for Business License Revocation
A food store in the center of Wakefield has been found with various illegal tobacco products. Councillors are calling for the revocation of the business license of the store caught selling illegal tobacco products.
According to a report by Yorkshirepost, the "Kubus International Food Store" located in the center of Wakefield, UK, was seized with approximately £2,000 worth of smuggled cigarettes and illegal e-cigarettes, and councillors are considering revoking the store's business license.
Police and trading standards officials revealed that during an investigation of the store located on Kirkgate, they discovered the aforementioned illegal items. Additionally, the regulatory authorities stated that the store's license holder had also violated business regulations by allowing a customer to purchase a single can of cider.
Public health official Chris Wathen also called for a hearing, stating: "In my view, there is no question that illegal tobacco and cigarettes have been stored in areas of the building that are clearly visible for public sale."
