What Changes Can Long-Term E-Cigarette Use Cause in the Body?

Key point: My first experience with e-cigarettes was during a trip with a friend. She bought a disposable vape, and the aroma was pleasant. Out of curiosity, I took a puff too—it had a strong mung bean ice cream flavor, very different from cigarettes.

The first time I encountered e-cigarettes was when I went out with a friend. She bought a disposable pod, and the scent that wafted out was delightful. Out of curiosity, I took a puff, and the strong green bean ice cream flavor was much more pleasant than the taste of tobacco. The most noticeable change over time was that I went from a few puffs a day to half a pack, then a full pack, and eventually about a pack and a half a day. Whenever I took a short break, I would light up without even realizing it, and the walls of my room started to turn yellow from the smoke.

What Changes Can Long-Term E-Cigarette Use Cause in the Body?

I have been using e-cigarettes for 8 months now, typically consuming one pod every six days, which is considered a small amount. I haven't experienced the issues that others mention, except for some dry mouth at the beginning. Then, an OKK store clerk advised me to take smaller puffs, reduce the frequency of inhalation, and drink more water. Now, I take very small puffs and drink more water while vaping. After a few puffs of the OKK e-cigarette, I drink water, and even when I'm not vaping, I have developed a habit of drinking more water. I used to be so busy with work that I would forget to drink water, but now I aim for seven cups a day.

For non-smokers, I advise against starting e-cigarettes. I plan to quit both e-cigarettes and traditional cigarettes completely through my use of the OKK e-cigarette.

The filter tip does seem to have some effect; after finishing a cigarette, the filter traps a lot of tar, resembling the black grease found in a range hood. However, the taste of slim cigarettes is too mild for someone used to regular cigarettes, leading to an increase in consumption from one and a half packs a day to two packs.

As a result, I still have issues; my cough has increased, and I was diagnosed with chronic pharyngitis and bronchitis at the hospital. The doctor advised me to quit smoking, but quitting is not as easy as it sounds.

Benefits of long-term e-cigarette use: 1. No tobacco smell; 2. Developed a habit of drinking more water; 3. Very convenient; 4. Improvement in teeth yellowing; 5. Throat health has improved.

Drawbacks of long-term e-cigarette use: 1. Fewer friends who smoke; 2. Easy to drop, feeling like a huge loss.

According to the experts, e-cigarettes are only suitable as a substitute for long-term smokers. Those who do not have a strong addiction to nicotine should avoid them, and non-smokers should definitely stay away, as they can indeed be addictive. Now, I can't be without my e-cigarette; I feel anxious without it and find myself taking a few puffs whenever I think about it.
